With expertise in personalized education plans, she strives to support and empower students with diverse needs, ensuring they achieve their full potential. Her passion for teaching and advocacy for individualized support make her a valued educator in her field.

Swansea Freshman Academy welcomes Ms. Laura Jumper as our School Nurse!
Mrs. Laura Jumper is a graduate of Swansea High School. She spent time working in various roles as Admin Support to include Lexington School District Four before returning to school for Nursing in 2005 where she attended Orangeburg Calhoun Technical College and earned an Associate Degree in Nursing in 2010. Nurse Jumper returns to Lexington School District Four to serve as SHFA School Nurse. Nurse Jumper is a wife of 37 years to her husband Mark, they have three daughters Alma, Emily and Isabella and two precious granddaughters, Analiese and Laurel. Favorite things include cooking (baking), thrifting antiques , music, missions/ministry opportunities, and anything with family.

All Lexington 4 Schools will be closed!
After consultation with emergency management and the National Weather Service (NWS), Lexington Four will not begin school as planned tomorrow.
The NWS is forecasting significant rainfall throughout the district with a high likelihood of flooding - particularly in low lying areas which may make roads hazardous.
All other activities are also canceled for tomorrow. Coaches and sponsors will be in contact with their students with any additional details.


Swansea Freshman Academy welcomes back English Instructor, Ms. Emily Taylor.
Ms. Taylor has worked in the Lexington 4 community for 32 years (25 years as an English teacher and 8 as a Media Specialist), and she is committed to making the community the best it can be. She moved to Swansea after graduating from Bob Jones University with a Bachelor's degree in English Education. She received a Master's from the University of South Carolina in Library and Information Science. In her spare time, she enjoys spending time with her family, reading, gardening, and traveling.

Swansea Freshman Academy welcomes back JROTC Instructor, SFC Nakina Dawson!
Sergeant First Class (R) Dawson retired from the U.S. Army in 2010, after 20 years of service. This is her twelfth year as an Army JROTC instructor. SFC Dawson is married to her "Army Sweetheart" & together they have four children. She proudly calls Swansea her other home 😊. When she's not working, she enjoys roller skating, dancing & spending time with her family. SFC Dawson loves her JROTC Cadets & is excited to meet the 2024-2025 Freshmen Cadets.

In response to this closure, we will adjust the district academic calendar to reflect a new start date. Any days missed due to this weather event will be scheduled as eLearning days later in the year. Our first scheduled eLearning date is Monday, October 14.
All other activities are also canceled for tomorrow. Coaches and sponsors will be in contact with their students with any additional details.
