Today we had the privilege of having two outstanding speakers talk to our student body. Special thanks to Frank Baker, author of We Survived the Holocaust, and Karl Goldberg, child of Holocaust survivors Felix and Bluma Goldberg, for tell us about this remarkable story. It makes the words come alive on the page to hear it from someone who has a personal connection!

Happy School Lunch Hero Day! 🍽️💜💛
Today we celebrate the incredible cafeteria team who keep our school running strong! From early mornings to the final lunch wave, they serve kindness, consistency, and care to every student who walks through the line.
We appreciate all that you do each and every day!

Today we celebrate our illustrious principal Joi O'Neill. We appreciate all she does to lead and serve our school community. Thank you Ms.O'Neill!

Check out what we are reading. Students in English 1 CP are reading about Felix and Bluma Goldberg, Holocaust survivors who made South Carolina their home. Students can choose from the graphic novel We Survived the Holocaust or the narrative Risk, Resilience, and Redemption. We are so appreciative of author Frank Baker and the South Carolina Council on the Holocaust for helping provide copies of the books! We are excited to hear from the author and one of the Goldberg's children this Friday.

Last week we had the privilege of having ThinkFast on our campus. ThinkFast Interactive is an evidence-based, game-show style program designed to teach teen driver safety through interactive trivia, addressing distracted driving, speeding, and seatbelt use.

Quarter Four Interim Reports will be sent home with students today. Please take a few moments to review your student's academic progress and contact teachers with any questions or concerns. Together, we can continue supporting our Tigers as they Lead, Learn, Serve, and Excel

This week, we are celebrating our very special administrative professional who is the heartbeat of SHFA and keeps our school running: Ms. Angela Spires. She goes above and beyond every day to support our staff, families, and, most importantly, our students. Please join us in giving her a huge round of applause for a job well done! We appreciate her so much!

On Friday, our English 1 students demonstrated their research and presentation skills by presenting to an outside panel of judges. Their "No Text Presentation' consisted of 5-7 pictures and no words except their title slide and sources slide. They had to explain their chosen Holocaust topic from memory. They did a fabulous job of conveying what they knew on their topic! Special shoutout to our volunteer judges, Gloria Smith, Marlene Roth, and Erin Fox.

Students had a hula hoop contest during lunch for an opportunity to win free tickets to our Luau dance this Friday.

Our Courtyard opened for business today with a nice revamp to the area. The students really enjoyed their time outdoors during lunch. A special shout out to Mr. Haynes for all his hard work in making sure the area is perfect for our students.
