Swansea Freshman Academy welcomes Ms. Laura Jumper as our School Nurse! Mrs. Laura Jumper is a graduate of Swansea High School. She spent time working in various roles as Admin Support to include Lexington School District Four before returning to school for Nursing in 2005 where she attended Orangeburg Calhoun Technical College and earned an Associate Degree in Nursing in 2010. Nurse Jumper returns to Lexington School District Four to serve as SHFA School Nurse. Nurse Jumper is a wife of 37 years to her husband Mark, they have three daughters Alma, Emily and Isabella and two precious granddaughters, Analiese and Laurel. Favorite things include cooking (baking), thrifting antiques , music, missions/ministry opportunities, and anything with family.

No School August 8, 2024 All Lexington 4 Schools will be closed! After consultation with emergency management and the National Weather Service (NWS), Lexington Four will not begin school as planned tomorrow. The NWS is forecasting significant rainfall throughout the district with a high likelihood of flooding - particularly in low lying areas which may make roads hazardous. All other activities are also canceled for tomorrow. Coaches and sponsors will be in contact with their students with any additional details.

Ms. Taylor has worked in the Lexington 4 community for 32 years (25 years as an English teacher and 8 as a Media Specialist), and she is committed to making the community the best it can be. She moved to Swansea after graduating from Bob Jones University with a Bachelor's degree in English Education. She received a Master's from the University of South Carolina in Library and Information Science. In her spare time, she enjoys spending time with her family, reading, gardening, and traveling.

Swansea Freshman Academy welcomes back JROTC Instructor, SFC Nakina Dawson! Sergeant First Class (R) Dawson retired from the U.S. Army in 2010, after 20 years of service. This is her twelfth year as an Army JROTC instructor. SFC Dawson is married to her "Army Sweetheart" & together they have four children. She proudly calls Swansea her other home 😊. When she's not working, she enjoys roller skating, dancing & spending time with her family. SFC Dawson loves her JROTC Cadets & is excited to meet the 2024-2025 Freshmen Cadets.

No School August 6, 2024 All Lexington 4 Schools will be closed! We want to welcome Ms. Vickie Jeffcoat-Hayes back in a different role as our Health Science instructor! As a Licensed Practical Nurse of 24 years, and a 2000 graduate of the Midlands Technical Practical Nurse Program, Ms. Jeffcoat–Hayes has worked in multiple specialties in the Nursing field. Ms. Jeffcoat-Hayes will be teaching Health Science 1. Before this position, Ms. Jeffcoat-Hayes was a School Nurse for SFA and Richland School District Two. In her spare time, Ms. Jeffcoat Hayes loves to plan events, craft, go to sporting events, and church fellowships. She is elated and humbled to expand her career into the instructional portion of education and honored to do it with the leadership, staff, faculty, students, and community of Lexington Four for the 2024-2025 school year.

Swansea Freshman Academy welcomes back Dr. Angela Brown! Dr. Brown is a Calhoun County grad who earned a B.S. in Organizational Management and an MBA from Claflin University. She earned her Ed.S in Educational Administration and her Doctorate in Education from South Carolina State University. She is a wife and mother of three children. She enjoys watching TV, watching sports, coaching, and spending time with her family. This is her second year with the Freshman Academy and her eighth year teaching. She looks forward to starting a new year in her educational journey.

She is married to Daryl Nicholas, a fellow Swansea alumni, and has two children. Her hobbies include camping, visiting zoos/aquariums, traveling, and spending time with her family.

SHFA welcomes back Math instructor, Ms. Simple Joy Peacita! Ms. Peacita was born and raised in the Philippines. She earned her bachelor's degree in Secondary Education majoring in Mathematics at Philippine Normal University. Next, she earned her master's degree in Mathematics at West Negros University, and currently, she is finishing her dissertation for a Doctor of Philosophy major in Mathematics Education at the University of St. La Salle, Bacolod City, Philippines. She is an exchange teacher from the Philippines and has been teaching math for 12 years. Her childhood dream was to become a teacher, and she always wanted to teach, touch lives, and inspire students to love math. She loves her family so much and likes cooking, traveling, and learning new ways in math concepts.

He serves as our Physical Education teacher, assistant athletic director, and Head Women's Basketball coach at Swansea High School. He and his wife, Jalysa, have two children, Kaysen and Kamden. He enjoys spending time with his family, traveling, and coaching youth sports.

Welcome back to SHFA, Ms. Angela Young. Mrs. Young grew up in Greenville, SC and earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Spanish from the University of South Carolina. After teaching English in Mexico for a short while she realized she liked working with students but not necessarily in the structure of the classroom, so she went back to school for a master's degree in School Counseling. She later earned an Educational Specialist degree in Counselor Education from the University of South Carolina. She currently lives in Columbia, SC with her husband and children, ages 16 and 10. She enjoys spending time with them, hanging out with my book club friends, trying new foods and listening to old-school hip-hop and R&B music. She has worked as a school counselor for 15 years.

We welcome back Mr. Burton Able! Mr. Able grew up in Columbia and graduated from the University of South Carolina, earning a Bachelor's degree in geography. After graduating college, he spent nearly ten years in the US Army, leaving with the rank of Captain to pursue a career in teaching. Mr.Able retired two years ago after teaching and coaching football for 30 years in South Carolina. He loves fitness, travel, the water(pool, lake, or beach), and spending time with his wife.
