SHS Graduation Information

Graduation Information

Date and Location:  Friday, May 24, 2024 at 8 A.M. at Doug Bennett Stadium in Swansea, SC

Parking

  • Gates will open at 6:45 A.M. Graduates and guests are encouraged to ride in the same vehicle. Guests will enter the entrance closest to the Lexington Four District Office (Lot 4). 

  • Guests will eventually enter at the Swansea High School Bus Parking Area (Lot 3).

  • Overflow will be utilized in Lot 2 once Lot 4 and Lot 3 reach full capacity.

  • Lexington Four personnel will help direct traffic to designated parking spots. Handicap parking will be available for those who have handicap placards in their cars.

  • Golf cart shuttles (6) will be available for those who need assistance.  Shuttle Buses (3) will be available as well to help expedite entry into Doug Bennett Stadium. 

Entrances 

  • Three gates, clearly marked with purple flags, will be available to enter the stadium seating area.  

  • Gate 1 entrance is for seating on the HOME side or VISITOR side. 

  • Gate 2 is for entrance to the HOME side only.  

  • Gate 3 is for entrance located on the VISITOR side and is also a designated area for handicap parking by Lex4 personnel located on the VISITOR side.

  • Gate 4 is for entrance located on the VISITOR/Canteen side and is a designated area for shuttle drop off located on the VISITOR/Canteen side of stadium. 

  • Water will be available to our guests at Doug Bennett Stadium.

Seating

  • Graduates will receive a number and map of the stadium so that guests will know where their student(s) will sit during the ceremony.  This information is subject to change.

  • Guests may sit on the Home or the Visitor side. 

  • Seating attendants will be available to direct and help our guests. 

  • There are NO mandatory social distancing guidelines for the SHS Graduation Ceremony.   

Exits

  • Guests will be asked to remain seated until the end of the ceremony. 

  • Sections will be dismissed by seating attendants once all students have exited the football field. 

  • The VISITOR side will have multiple gates available for exiting the stadium. 

  • The HOME side will have multiple gates available for exiting the stadium.   

  • Families may meet their graduates in the parking lot area at the end of the ceremony.

  • Shuttles will be available to take guests back to their parking area after the end of the ceremony.

Additional Information

  • Bathrooms are available at the canteen area. This is the building closest to Redmond Mill road. 

  • Nurses will be available on the HOME and VISITOR sides should assistance be needed.

  • A Clear Bag policy will be honored at Doug Bennett Stadium. Bookbags, Drawstring Bags, Large Bags, Purses are prohibited.

Clear Bag Policy

  • Items Allowed:

  • Clear Tote Bag: Plastic, Vinyl or PVC, not to exceed 12" x 6" x 12"

  • One-gallon clear plastic freezer bag (Ziploc bag or similar)

  • Small clutch bags no larger than 4.5" x 6.5" (approximately the size of a hand, with or without a handle or strap)

  • Diaper bag, not to exceed 12" x 6" x 12" (must have an infant with them when they enter)
